What Wedding Signs Does YOUR Wedding Need?

So your wedding is coming up..what signs do you need?! Every wedding is different and has different signage needs. So I've put together this guide to hopefully help with your DIY wedding planning!

Shuttle Sign: Will your guests be traveling by shuttle, trolley or bus to the ceremony? Having a sign with the times is a fun way to get the day started and to keep your guests informed on when they will be picked up and dropped off.

Directional Signs: Can your guests see the ceremony from the parking area or the front door of the venue? If not, consider having signs to point them the way. These are perfect for lining sidewalks and staircases.

"Please Sign Our Guestbook" Sign: If you don't want to run around at the end of the night asking for signatures, have a sign to help encourage guests!

Gift and Cards Sign: A MUST for every wedding. It will serve as a reminder for anyone who left theirs in their car or jacket pocket!

Welcome Sign: A statement piece for your ceremony. I like placing this at the entrance or nearby for guests to take photos with before the ceremony starts. It can always be moved into the reception later!

Unplugged Ceremony Sign: Almost every photographer is requesting these nowadays. Even with this sign, it's still a good idea to have your officiant ask guests to keep their devices away.

Choose a Seat, Not a Side Sign: If your guest list is lopsided, meaning that you or your fiance have the majority of the count, then consider having one of these signs at the entrance to your ceremony. This will help your guests fill out your ceremony evenly, looking best for your wedding photos.

Reserved Signs: You will need reserved signs for the rows or chairs you would like to save for family that will be walking in your processional. Try not to reserve more rows than needed, as this can make your ceremony look empty and potentially leaving guests standing.

In Loving Memory Sign: An in loving memory setup features photos of loved ones that have passed. Its always nice to have a sign nearby with "In loving memory of those who are forever in our hearts" or near a candle with a sign that says "This candle burns for those who will forever be in our hearts". These can be set up at the ceremony and/or reception.

Bar Sign Including Order of Events and Hashtag: Keep your guests informed of the events happening throughout the night with a custom sign placed on or near your bar. Feature your wedding hashtag to encourage guests to share photos on social media. This is also a great way to showcase any special cocktails or signature drinks!

Seating Chart: Will your guests have assigned tables? Then you will need a custom seating chart or escort cards either in the cocktail hour area or at the entrance to the reception. I like having this in the cocktail hour to give guests time to find their names and tables (especially for larger weddings).

Place Cards: Now that your guests have made it to their tables, will they have assigned seats? If so, you will need place cards guiding them to the right seat. Place cards are typically required for plated meals or weddings where guests have multiple allergies or diets.

Yard Games Instructional Signs: If your cocktail hour features yard games, consider having fun signs with instructions on how to play and keep score! One that has been popular is the corn hole sign!

Table Numbers: These are needed to designate tables if you are having assigned tables or seats. These can also serve as a decor item part of your centerpieces! Have fun, switch it up from the standard numbers to match your theme. Some popular tables numbers in Colorado are the fourteeners, ski towns, songs, etc.

Reserved Signs: Are you having open seating but want to reserve just the head table? Maybe you want to reserve just a few tables closest to the head table for your family? Reserved signs are great for this. Just make sure the guests that are supposed to sit there know so your most important tables don't end up empty!

Chair Signs: For the back of couples chairs! These are awesome for photo ops too!

Flavor Cards: These go right by your desserts to designate the different flavors. These are especially great if you have guests with allergies!

Favor Sign: Thanking your guests for coming, asking them to take a favor (or two!) home with them.

All of these custom wedding signs are available for rent in Colorado. I also offer venue styling and coordination, both including a custom signage set and decor for your ceremony, reception, centerpieces and more. Contact me for more info!
