Step 1: Let’s Get Started

What is Creative Fabrica and what can it be used for? Creative Fabrica is a massive library of images and graphics (over 4 million) that are included in a monthly membership, making it easy to download a variety of fonts for different wedding themes. They make it easy to save your favorites and download at any time. They come with a commercial license, which is essential for small business owners like myself!

Finding the perfect fonts and SVGs is the first step to making the perfect signage and Creative Fabrica is always my first stop when narrowing down options for my wedding clients.

For this particular project, I’ll use two Creative Fabrica fonts - Paradiso and Handletters - along with two Creative Fabrica SVG files for the Mountains and Cocktails images in the signs.

Step 2: Design in Cricut Design Space Using Fonts From Creative Fabrica

Downloading a font from Creative Fabrica:

Once the font is downloaded to your computer, restart Cricut Design Space (if needed) and your new fonts will be ready to use:

Continue designing til the full set is ready to cut! This is when I typically send a final demo to clients for approval:

Step 3: Applying Vinyl to Larger Than Mat Projects

After we have our design finalized in Cricut Design Space, I use a few of my favorite tools for working with vinyl to weed and prep the decals. This soft scraper for applying transfer tape to the vinyl and adhering the vinyl to the sign’s surface is an amazing tool that makes working with vinyl so much easier. Cricut brand mats are my choice for holding vinyl while cutting with the Cricut Maker, and this handy Cricut brand knife for cutting large vinyl pieces down into manageable sections makes projects a breeze! I’ll also show you a few tricks for cutting, weeding, and applying the vinyl to wood signs, including using one of my favorite tricks - the hinge method:
